I was in ACAD at CMH for an elective operation to repair my hernia. I had the pre-op (and a Covid test) on the Wednesday before. That was well and safely organised. On the Saturday I was at CMH early. There were few people around and getting into the ward took a little time as the careful Covid precautions were necessary.
Once inside, everything went really well. The nurses made me feel at ease (because I was nervous). The surgeon and his registrar explained everything and discussed the possible complexities of the operation because I had had abdominal surgery before. They reassured me greatly. This was true too of the anaesthetist too who explained her part in the procedure in detail. The ward was incredibly quiet, I only saw our little group of patients and we were all treated well in a kind and professional manner. There were of course no visitors nor any extra people around as this hospital I understand has no Covid patients. My end bed looked out over a quiet courtyard. Everybody there at the hospital that I saw was looking after our particular group of patients. The care by the nurses in the recovery area was kindly and considerate and I noticed how carefully each patient was treated as a person rather than as just a "case". The surgeon and his registrar came to see me as did the anaesthetist to talk over the op. The nurses checked me to make sure I would be OK to return home that evening and gave me the medication and careful guidance on what to do plus a written discharge sheet.
Obviously, nobody likes having an operation but if I had to, as on this occasion, then this turned out to be for me just about as good as it gets. Thank you to all the staff.

I had a colonoscopy yesterday and every single member of staff involved was absolutely lovely. I was treated with respect and kindness, especially in the recovery ward by Kate Nash.
Suggested improvements
There was a delay with receiving my bowel prep and I had to collect this during my Corona test, but that was due to postal delays and issues.

Complaining cannot lift you leg - my back painful - I was upset.

Because everything was in a proper manner. Staff kinder that any other hospital I have been to in the pass.
